The third one is Dimitry from Russia!

That’s what he told us about himself:

1. How old are you and what are you doing in life?

I’m 22. I’m going to be an engineer. My hobby is painting.

2. How did you discover Star Walk?

Found in the AppStore a long ago. I was always fascinated about astronomy.

3. Where did you find out the info about Easter eggs Contest?

iphones.ru

4. What’s the most attractive thing in SW for you?

Time Machine is amazing! Everything else is very comfortable.

5. What did you learn with SW?

I improved significantly my knowledge about the Moon while searching for Easter Eggs :) The more often you play with SW the better you know the sky.

6. What other application would you like to see soon available for iPhone?

Hard to say, frankly. Some kind of pedagogics manual, perhaps.

7. What’s your Top 5 favorite apps (apart from SW)?

Brushes. Groups. Beejive. Skype. WordFu.

And the second one is Bob!

Here the answers given by the second winner of Easter Eggs Contest, Bob from Canada:

1. How old are you and what are you doing in life?

I’m 28. I work as a computer tech., and have returned to university to study physics and astronomy.

2. How did you discover Star Walk?

Just by searching the App Store for astronomy-related apps.

3. Where did you find out the info about Easter eggs Contest?

App Store description. I was going to buy SW anyway, but the contest sounded like a fun way to learn how to use SW — it hadn’t crossed my mind that I might actually win!

4. What’s the most attractive thing in SW for you?

The interface. Compare it to the interface of “professional” planetarium software, where you must constantly click, scroll, and shuffle the mouse around. You can do the same things in SW with your toes…

5. What did you learn with SW?

SW is helping me get a good feel for where some of the most interesting (telescopically-observable) objects in the sky are located. There’s always something new to find.

6. What other application would you like to see soon available for iPhone?

More educational apps. I would be more specific, but who knows? I might try to produce an iPhone app of my own, in the future!

7. What’s your Top 5 favorite apps (apart from SW)?

iCSC Clear Sky Chart, The Chemical Touch, MandoChords, APOD, and ICanHasCheezBurger.

Here is our first Easter Eggs Hunter :)

His name is William. And he agreed to give us a little interview:

1. How old are you and what are you doing in life?

I am 24 years old and currently looking for a change in careers. I used to be in Sales, but found out that wasn’t the right path for me. Currently,  I manage property, but I’ve also been looking into other options that might have a more stable career path.

2. How did you discover Star Walk?

I discovered Star Walk via the iTunes App store. I love all the different types of apps out there and love searching through new apps that come out or maybe something that I haven’t seen before. I noticed Star Walk was one of the top 10 under Education and decided to read through some of the reviews and look through the screen shots. I was very pleased by what people said about the app and the pictures proved to be very appealing, so I took a leap of faith and just bought it. After opening the app for the very first time, I was immediately impressed with the aesthetics of Star Walk. There were so many stars to explore and most of them had good details. I spent a few hours the first night going through everything Star Walk had to offer.

3. Where did you find out the info about Easter Eggs Contest?

The Star Walk Easter Egg Contest was something that started right after I bought the app. The first few days, I was some what lost as to where to look for the stars. Even with the hints, I felt like I was in the right place, but perhaps not the right time. With a little nudge by asking around on different forums, I found my first egg, which was on the Moon, July 20, 1969, the first apollo landing on the moon. I scrolled through the timeline to find a  Russian flag and repeats of the American flag and Russian flag. I was unsure as to whether these were other eggs or just a glitch. After a few days of contemplating, I decided to see if the exact date that the flag showed up correlated with any big event on the moon. I was right. I used google and wikipedia to look up the specific dates and it proved to be the key to the easter eggs. I found the rest this way and was able to know why the flags were there on those specific dates. The last egg, which was the symbol of an Apple, I found just by roaming around the night sky. I followed the hint to head north, so I just scavenged around above the (N) symbol and found it.

4. What’s the most attractive thing in SW for you?

The most attractive thing to me in Star Walk would have to be the database of stars, nebulas, and events. Not only do you get a pleasing view of the galaxies out there, but you also can search for them and most of them have a wikipedia link to where you can learn more about it. I like that Star Walk shows animations of events such as comets or meteor showers in the sky. Overall, the aesthetics wins my decision for choosing this app. I have seen other apps out there, but they just weren’t as pleasing to look at as much as Star Walk.

5. What did you learn with SW?

I learned a lot about different constellations in the sky with Star Walk. A lot of times I would look into the sky and not know what star is part of which constellation. For example, I used to only know the three stars on Orion’s belt, but now with Star Walk, I know all the stars in the constellation. I’ve also learned some new facts about meteor showers and events that I never knew existed. It helps to be able to track them because who knows when I’ll be lucky enough to see something like that!

6. What other application would you like to see soon available for iPhone?

I have been looking for a great comprehensive To-Do App that combines everything into one. I have seen a few innovative To-Do apps out there, but alone, they don’t seem worth it. Some have task managers and calendars, others have graphs on your habit trends, but none of them really has it all. If the top To-Do apps were to be combined into one, it would make an amazing app that I would buy without hesitation. Another App that I would love to see in the App store is a better language learning program. I have tried a few, but they only teach you single words and barely any phrases. Most don’t really teach you how to write or learn the correct grammar. They all seem to follow the same monotonous flash-card style of learning. I’d like to see a language learning app like the popular language learning program, Rosetta Stone. I believe that would be a great way to learn while on the go.

7. What’s your Top 5 favorite apps (apart from SW)?

Apart from Star Walk, I’d have to say my top 5 would be: BeeJive, Facebook, iXpenseIt, Mint.com, and Sportacular. There are a few other apps that are in my top list, such as games, but those are only limited in use. I tend to enjoy or remember apps that I can use everyday, such as Star Walk. Apps that have unlimited use is what really makes it worth it for me to purchase.
