Star Walk developers – little story of success!

What a year: Obama gets elected, iPhone and App Store boom and hundred thousand of new astronomers are born thanks to Star Walk! Yes, Star Walk is turning 1 year old and we want to celebrate with you. You haven’t star gazed this year? Not even once? Get Star Walk and admire the sky, its beauty and learn all about it. It has never been so easy, so beautiful and so much fun.

But lets recall this success story in all its important dates:

06.11.2008 – Star Walk is born and appears with version 1.0 on App Store. We developer were confident we had done a good job, but how many people out there would appreciate astronomy as much as us was all to be seen.

24.01.2009 – Star Walk made more than 10.000 new astronomers and version 1.2 with Meteor Showers and Wikipedia linked information is out.

14.02.2009 – Star Walk reaches top 3 in its category. The romantic hearts decided to stargaze for their S. Valentine night.

22.04.2009 – The numbers of new astronomers triple and Star Walk launches version 1.5 to give more to the star gazers of the world, now with 110 pictures of Stars and Constellations, new settings and bookmarks.

24.07.2009 – Star Walk 2.0 has now Digital Compass, the function that now almost 50,000 new astronomers waited for. Star Walk on 3GS activates the accelerometer function and tilting the phone Star Walk shows what you are looking at and follows your movements.

18.09.2009 – Star Walk is just the most beautiful astronomy app on App Store! The new version 3.0 adds a fantastic 3D globe to help you find different locations on earth and to see how the sky looks from there.

14.10.2009 – Star Walk gets even more beautiful with version 3.1 and showing off astronomy pictures of the day and notifying for each new pictures with PUSH. We are never tired to make this app the fanciest ever for astronomy! We receive some amazing comments, one from FCC Chairman ”priceless” he says.

26.10.2009 – we are getting ready to celebrate our first Birthday and aiming to exceed the 100,000 fans numbers. Star Walk is also booming in Japan, on What’s Hot there and num. 1 in the Education category.

06.11.2009 – Celebrate with us!!!!  ONLY this day the price of Star Walk is 5 times less than usual! It will cost only $0.99!
