SMS-Chat 1.2 Released!
April 28th , 2009 VITO Technology releases the new 1.2 version of SMS-Chat. Our bestseller for threaded SMS on Windows Mobile handsets now has 3 skins, backup function for your messages straight from the application and. last but not least major bugs have been fixed.
SMS-Chat a part from including all functions of messaging software has unique interfaces and functions that allow you to manage all SMS correspondences into threaded SMS conversations. This way all chats are separate, clearly shown and organized for each contact. Version 1.2 makes SMS-Chat even more enjoyable and reliable thanks to its enhanced look and functionality.
Reliability is assured by the added back up feature that backs up of all SMS and restores them straight from SMS-Chat, this way the recovery of any possible loss of chats is easy and straight forward.
The enhanced look of SMS Chat now counts 3 skins: Dark (Default), Clear and Light. The new ‘Bright’ skin adds more style and easiness to the software and forms a perfect combination with Vito Technology mobile shell Winterface.
Together with the look functionality has also been improved. With the new graphics SMS Chat 1.2 has gained a great user-friendly interface. The blue and green modes, for instance, differentiate clearly your personal messages from received ones (see also screenshots above), making writing, reading and searching threads even easier.
Last but not least Vito Technology has fixed the following bugs that solve the minor problems encountered in the previous version:
• the new SMS now starts with the capital letter
• all types of phones are shown in the list
• when you use joystick the chosen SMS is highlighted
SMS-Chat supports English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Norwegian, Danish, Portuguese, and Russian. It is available for $14.95 at vitotechnology.com.

I want a notification that does NOT show the latest text message. For crying out loud guys! People have been asking for this for a long time.
We want a notification, but we don’t want strangers reading the text message. If your girlfriend sends you a risque message, it pops up for the whole world to see.
Our only option is to turn off notifications! Why is such a simple option such as a notification without a message continuing to be ignored? Its not like it would take a lot of code to implement.

Jeff, thanks for your comment. I hope we can add this feature in the future releases.

I love your SMS-chat application, a few more things would make it perfect for me.
It would be great if it could process MMS as well as SMS, it would also be good if it could become the default messaging application so when I tap messaging on today screen, it would go straight to SMS chat .. and lastly, I have a high res screen on my device making the smileys tiny so a bolt on for high res smileys would be great too :) … thanks for designing such a great application :)

Thanks, Nicky, for your suggestions!
Probably some of your ideas will be realized in the future releases of SMS-Chat.

I have been using this for a while, and I love it!

SMS-Chat is launched.(preset in setting) But not actural address(Phone no) page.
I searched about this on web but could not find any info. also manual for this app. on Vito site(dead link).
Does this have command line paramaters? If yes, please mention in help field, if not plee——-eese add the function.
Thanks.

Thanks for reply.
The thing I want to do is call SMS-Chat Edit screen from other application by tapping SMS #.
In the Contact program I use, there are settings for program names(path) and parameters, such like…
ex.
App: \Windows\xxxxx.exe
param: -url %1
or
-c /SMS /TO:%1
Is there any way to call SMS chat with actual editing screen,
- like Contacts(default in WM) – not the user list.

hey, I had a question, it is similar to clare’s. I have Iconsoft phone ex 1.4.5 and when i select a contact then select “send a text message” i want smschat to open directly the sms box for that contact instead of opening main page of sms chat. I changed msinbox like the following:”Program files/VITO/sms-chat/smschat.exe” is there any additional command that i should enter? thanks

As much as I\’d like to purchase SMS-Chat, it still does not support Korean language and has issues with typing Korean.
Are you able to fix this quickly?
June 15th, 2009 at 12:42 pm
Jertrude,
Please try the following:
SMSChat.exe
open:[phone number]
Min Lee, currently we don’t have a Korean translator. If you’re interested in adding Korean language you can contact me via olya at vitotechnology dot com and I’ll send you xls file for translation. After that we’ll add Korean translation to the program. Thanks!

Hello, wonderful program to use, but I also have a problem with integration – into S2U2. The association with SMS app in S2U2 is implemented via registry, so currently mine looks like this: Program files/VITO/sms-chat/smschat.exe which takes me to SMS-chat main screen. What parameter should I use to open the new message I am being notified about? I tried the above (Program files/VITO/sms-chat/smschat.exe -open:[phone number]), but it doesn’t work. Can you help me? Thanks in advance.

Adyz,
If this: SMSChat.exe open:[phone number]
doesn’t work I can’t help you. Will you contact S2U2 support and ask about that?
Thanks!

The program (trial) installs correctly, but I can´t make it work. It keeps processing and never ends (more than 10 minutes). I tried uninstalling it, and instaling it again but it doesn´t work. I have a Qtek S200
Hope you can help me.
Sincerely,
Juan Chiban

Hello, Olga.
First of all, please be advised that your VITO sms-chat is
tremendously famous among smartphone users in South Korea.
You don’t include korean language files in this app, but somehow
we made it and use it well.
However, there is some restrictions to keep some Korean users from
using your app, which is an inconvenient error occuring while
they type Korean letters by using QWERTY keyboard or other IMEs.
Those problems are ;
1. When we type letters, sms-chat sets highlight randomly.
2. During typing letters, a letter will not appear until we finish
to make that word and go to the next one.
3. While we are typing, the cursor suddenly moves to the very first
space of the sentence, so the newly adding letter appears at the
first space. Indeed, the whole sentence would look like such a
incomprehensible word salad.
4. Even if we complete to make sentences somehow, there’s another
problem. When we sending a sms, the last letter can’t be sent.
So we have to make a blank at the last space of the sms, so we
can avoid a letter missing.
They say all the problems except no.4 were not exist until we
used Vito sms-chat ver. 1.05.
Fortunately, an IME app which of name is ‘total keyboard’, that
was made by an amature korean programer, has no problem like
above except no.4 while using on the vito sms-chat, so some users
, especially who have only touch-screen but qwerty keyboard,
are using your program with ‘total keyboard’.
But others, who are using a phone with real keyboard, such as
Sony-Erricsons’ Xperia X1, still have a hard time to look out
what’s the problem.
I post this thing here, cause I wonder whether you already
know about this problem, and if you do, haven’t you find any
solutions for that.
Thank you.
